This goes out to all you comedians in the crowd tonight...

Yesterday I found out that Johnny Carson had died. He was 79 years old. He was the host of The Tonight Show for 30 years before retiring and passing the job on to Jay Leno.

He grew up in Norfolk, NE. Just a couple hours north of where I live. There's a little sign in front of the house now, so you can take a look at it as you pass by.

I've always been thought of as the funny one in my group of friends. These days I hang with a lot of people in several different groups, and there are a lot of funny people. However, Johnny Carson is the first of the "funny ones" I can honestly remember. What's an amature comedian to do when a legend like Johnny passes on? The world will be a little less funny now.

There really isn't much to say about this. I can't think of a quirky closing line to leave on, either. So, from someone who considers herself one of the funny ones among her peers, I'd like to wish Johnny Carson a very heartfelt goodbye.
